For the very first time, it's Free From Week on The Great British Bake Off.

The five remaining contestants on the hit Channel 4 show will bake with no wheat or dairy in a tough quarter final.

Known for her simple vegan and gluten free cakes, SurreyLive baker @cakeontherun has shared her favourite recipes with us. They are so easy to make, you don't need to be a Bake Off finalist to master them.

In fact, many of them can be conjured up in less than five minutes, making them perfect for trying in an ad break on Tuesday night if you get the munchies.

They contain no fancy ingredients or foods you cannot pronounce, plus you won't need expensive equipment either to give these scrumptious dishes a go.

1. Vegan carrot banana bread

The key to making this bake wonderfully moist and lower in refined sugar than other cakes is to use very ripe bananas - the ones that are spotty and going black in the fruit bowl are ideal.

2. Caramel shortbread biscuit bars

Inspired by Caramel Week, this fantastic recipe uses dates and oats instead of dairy and flour.

Not only is this recipe much healthier than others you'll find online and in cookbooks, you won't run the risk of burning the caramel or getting yourself into sticky situations.

Using just a handful of basic ingredients you've most likely already got in your kitchen cupboard, you can whip this delight up in no time at all.

4. Strawberry cheesecake

This single-serving cheesecake requires no cooking and is low in fat and sugar.

The 'cheese' in this recipe is replaced with yoghurt and the biscuit base is made with oats instead of flour.

While oats do not contain wheat, it does contain gluten so make sure you opt for the gluten free variety if you want to go 100% gluten free.

Inspired by Bread Week on Bake Off, you won't need a proving draw, rolling pin or special bread flour for this recipe.

Made using gluten free flour and yoghurt, the Mediterranean loaf can be topped with whatever ingredients you fancy, may it be cherry tomatoes, black olives and red onion, or the classic olive oil and rosemary combo.

6. Tiramisu

This cheat tiramisu recipe is so simple, you don't need to be a Star Baker to whip it up.

Instead of using double cream and mascarpone cheese, a dairy free yoghurt made from soya, almond or coconut works just as well.

7. Gingerbread biscuits

The lightly spiced, scrumptious treat reminds us of Christmas time, and let's face it, it's just around the corner.

The strong cookie is also ideal for supporting a showstopping structure if you're thinking of re-creating one of the Bake Off challenges.

Similarly, swap butter for margarine as that's made with sunflower oil instead of milk.
