There’s a tiny chill in the air, at least in the morning, which means soon fall will make its appearance. Fall is my favorite time of year! I love everything about it, including the food. Every year I try and find yummy fall recipes to share, and I’ve found some on Souther Living this year. Slow cookers are great because you can set up a meal in the morning and come home to amazing smells! And when you get home, dinner is done.

One of my favorite slow cooker recipes is a Mediterranean Roast Turkey Breast. It’s easy to make and the flavors are delicious. This is a great dish to make if you have friends over for dinner. And it goes great served over rice, mashed potatoes, or egg noodles. The two times I’ve made it I’ve served it on mashed potatoes and it’s so tasty! This recipe is one of my ‘musts’ once the weather cools down.

There’s something for everyone on Southern Living’s 40 slow cooker recipes. From side dishes to desserts, you’ll find something for you and your family. Although I’m not a huge mac & cheese fan the ‘Uncle Jack’s Mac-and-Cheese’ recipe looks insanely good! I’ve never made mac & cheese in a slow cooker, but I may have to try this recipe out. This dish is good as a side or as a main course.

Years ago, when I was married, I made an Ina Garten recipe that blew my mind. It was her recipe for Beef Short-Ribs served over rosemary polenta. To date it’s one of the best things I’ve EVER made! On this list there’s a recipe for ‘Slow Cooker Short-Ribs with Rosemary Potatoes’ and I gotta try it. This recipe looks like the perfect thing to make on a chilly day.

In the fall, once I see a recipe for turkey and stuffing, I get insanely excited. It’s one of my favorite combos and obviously I’m a fan of Thanksgiving. Making it in the slow cooker never occurred to me, but this recipe looks easy and tasty. If you’re a fan of Thanksgiving flavors, check out this ‘Turkey and Herb-Cornbread Stuffing’ dish. Talk about comfort food!

You can check out all of the recipes here. And if you have your own slow cooker recipe that is a favorite, please share! I’m always looking for new dishes to whip up.
