Kevin Hart is jumping into the plant-based food industry with his new vegan fast food restaurant called Hart House. Hart House will open its first location later this summer and will only serve plant-forward food and sustainability and crave-able products in mind.

The Hart House will be 100 percent plant-based burg’rs, chick’n sandwiches, salads, nuggets, fries, tots, and oat milk-based shakes. The menu will also be entirely free of hormones, artificial colors, preservatives, and high fructose corn syrup. Hart wants the menu to appease even the biggest carnivores.

“If you were to just come out and say to folks, ‘Come to my vegan restaurant,’ automatically, there’s two thirds of the country that just won’t go because they’re thinking to themselves, ‘Oh, vegan food doesn’t taste as good as other food.’ I think it’s important for us to be a restaurant that first and foremost serves a crave-able product that people go out of their way to consume and then at the end we’re like, ‘Hey, by the way, this just happens to be all plant-based,'” CEO Andy Hooper told Los Angeles at a private tasting of the new concept.

The plant-based food market is booming, and research suggests it could make up 7.7 percent of the global protein market by 2030. With a value of $29.4 billion in 2020, experts suggest that the plant-based foods market could have a value of over $162 billion by the end of the decade.

Hart recently revealed his shift to a plant-based diet on an episode of the Joe Rogan podcast. He said a near-death experience in an accident encouraged him to lead a healthier life. He now does not eat any red meat, fish, or seafood.

Hart wants to eat sustainably and doesn’t want to sacrifice flavor. With Hart House’s menu, customers will get sustainable, delicious, and affordable meals that do far less harm to their health and the planet than meat products.

Hart House will be led by restauranteur and now CEO, Andy Hooper. Hart House has not revealed the locations for the two new restaurants, however, one will be in Los Angeles and the other in Hollywood. They currently have a food truck that is in operation that is used for special and private events.

Meatless meat has been rapidly expanding throughout the United States and across Europe. Companies like Dunkin Donuts and Burger King are offering meatless options to consumers. Beyond Meat and Impossible Burger are continuing to grow as they are found in more grocery stores and restaurants around the country.
