It's that time of the year, when the festive fervour is in the air and preparations for the lavish Eid feasts have already begun. As much as we wait for this day to enjoy some of the most delicious delicacies made at home, the fear of eating oily, sugary and salty foods can simply make you feel guilty and ruin your enthusiasm to celebrate the festival. Well, if you too feel the same, then we have curated some healthy and delish treats to make your EID feast special as well as super healthy.
It is impossible to imagine this recipe without sugar, but we have a simple alternative for you. To make this easy recipe, just boil 1 liter milk and keep stirring. In the meantime, soak 1 cup deseeded dates in warm ½ cup water and make a smooth paste. Once the milk starts turning thick, lower the flame, add roasted seviyan along with dates paste, cardamom powder, and mix it all together. Cook for 5-7 minutes and garnish with nuts and raisins to enjoy.
To make this easy recipe, take 2 mangoes, extract the pulp and blend it well. Next, heat a pan and add 1litre full cream milk and once the milk is reduced to half, add saffron strands, cardamom powder, dry fruits and chopped nuts. Turn off the flame and keep in the large bowl and mix the mango pulp, give a nice mix. Next, take a non-stick pan and heat it over medium flame, brush some ghee over the bread slices and cook them nice and crisp from both sides. Lastly, cut the slices and add to the rabri.
It is impossible to imagine Eid without mushy kebabs, so here’s a way to make them healthy. Take 2 chicken breasts, boil them with 2 garlic cloves, salt and cinnamon sticks. Once done, drain the water, add the chicken to the grinder along with ginger and garlic paste, black pepper powder, coriander leaves, onion, and make a smooth thick paste. Heat a pan and add in just 1 tablespoon of olive oil and add the paste. Cook it nicely, turn off the flame. Make kebabs and in a baking tray, bake the kebabs for 5 minutes and enjoy.
To begin with this simple recipe, take 2 mangoes, take the puree and blend it well. Next, boil the milk and let it cool down. Once the milk is warm, add in 2 tablespoons of curd culture, whisk well. Allow the mixture to cool down and add in mango. Allow the curd to set by wrapping it with a warm shawl for 4-5 hours. Post that, put it in a refrigerator and serve it chilled with fresh mango bits.
To make this quick dish, take 1 cup homemade paneer, 1 boiled potato along with 1 cup boiled chickpeas, and mash all these together. Next, add chopped onion, ginger garlic paste, coriander leaves and green chilies. Make a smooth dough. Next, dust them with some crushed oats. Place them in an air fryer or on a baking tray by brushing some oil. Allow it to bake for 15-20 minutes. Enjoy it with drinks.
