Last, but certainly not least, in our Avengers Campus dining reviews from Walt Disney Studios Paris is the Super Diner. This tiny restaurant has a small menu, but we’ll see if it packs a big punch. Come on in, we’ll show you around!
The outside is sleek with retro silver outfitting. It looks exactly like an old diner with the neon lights and retro signs, because it is one. This was a real New Jersey diner from 1935 that was purchased for the park when it opened. It opened in 2002 as a restaurant called Cafe des Cascadeurs. The diner itself was called “The Excellent Diner” when it lived in America, but then in 1995 it was purchased and shipped to Germany for some reason. Disney then bought it for the park and completely rebuilt the interior.
The inside is a bit tight, but that makes the experience all the more authentic. You are able to sit at a booth or the bar, or you can take the food to go and sit outside.
A paper placemat with the “An Excellent Family Diner” text sits at every available chair.
The menu is very straightforward. You can get a Rueben sandwich or a salad or a dessert, and that’s about it.
We got two sandwiches, a couple drinks, and an elegant Choco-Blast, not to be confused with the Choco-Smash candy bar.
NY Classic Reuben Sandwich – 11€ or $11.13
Pastrami, Sauerkraut, Melted Cheddar Cheese, Diced Pickled, and Mustard Sauce.
This sandwich was nice and toasty, although we felt it could be missing a couple of ingredients. Particularly for Disneyland Paris, this isn’t bad! The meat is a bit dry, but the bread is perfectly toasted, with just the right amount of sauerkraut. This is a solid entry and a very viable option if you’re dining in this park. It’s not the best reuben in the world, but it’s still pretty good for a theme park.
Vegan NY Classic Reuben Sandwich – 11€ or $11.13
Plant Based Emince, Sauerkraut, Plant Based Grated Nurishh, Diced Pickles, and Vegan Mustard.
The difference with the vegan reuben is of course the plant-based meat from Nurishh. To our surprise, it was even better than the non-vegan option! The cheese is shockingly flavorful, tasting like real cheese to us at least. The substitute meat indeed tasted like real meat, and we absolutely would call this a winner in our eyes.
The Choco-Blast – 5€ or $5.06
Chocolate Bar, Caramel, and Peanut Butter.
Paris’ take on the Choco-Smash from California has a lot of caramel and candy bar, with some peanut butter cream on top. The richness of the chocolate shell combined with all the other elements makes for a must-have dessert.
All in all, we would still call Super Diner one of the best eateries at Walt Disney Studios Park, although Bistrot Chez Remy is still in the conversation . You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu here based on our experience, but we do have to warn you that our meal may be very different from yours depending on when in the day you visit. We did in fact go to the Super Diner right at opening, so everything was hot and freshly prepared, but we have had some readers tell us that their experience later in the day was not as good, so be forewarned.
Don’t miss our on-the-spot review as well for the Super Diner as part of our YouTube video trying all the restaurants at Avengers Campus in Paris! And of course don’t miss our written reviews as well for Pym Kitchen, the Worldwide Eating Brigade and the food trucks on site, and the Stark Factory all at Avengers Campus.
