Cuisine: American
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 20 minutes
Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 1 container (16 ounces) fresh mushrooms, cut in half
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons dark brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 2 tablespoons butter (divided)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 - 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

Here's how to make it:

  1. Combine the balsamic vinegar, sugar and water in a small bowl. Set aside.
  2. Melt 1 tablespoon of the butter and the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the mushrooms and season with salt and pepper. Cook, without stirring, for about 2 minutes. Stir and continue to cook until the mushrooms are soft and beginning to brown, about 5 to 6 minutes.
  3. Reduce the heat to low and add the garlic and remaining butter. Cook for 30 seconds.
  4. Pour in the balsamic vinegar mixture and cook until it thickens and coats the mushrooms, about 1 minute. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
