1. Easy 5-Ingredient Chicken Liver Bites

Recipe from AllRecipes

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup of Rolled Oats
  • 1 Cup of All-Purpose Flour
  • ½ Pound of Chicken Livers, Trimmed and Rinsed
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • Approximately 1 Tablespoon of Vegetable Oil

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F. Grease a 9-inch, square baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Add oats to a food processor. Pulse the oats 10-15 seconds until they are finely chopped. Combine the oats with the flour in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Place the chicken livers into the food processor and process 10-15 seconds until smooth. Add your eggs to the livers and blend about 10 seconds until well combined. Add your vegetable oil and mix until combined.
  4. Add your liver mixture to your mixing bowl and combine with the oat and flour mixture. Once well mixed, spoon your mixture into the baking dish.
  5. Bake your mixture at 325°F for 30-40 minutes until firm to the touch. You do not want your liver treats to be hard and crispy.
  6. Remove the treats from the oven. Once cooled completely, cut into 50 treats.

2. Bubba’s Easy Dehydrated Beef Liver Treats

Recipe from The Salty Pot

Ingredients:

  • ½ Pound of Beef Liver

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. Rinse off the beef liver with water. Pat the beef liver dry and then use a sharp knife to carefully cut it into treats that are approximately 1.5” to 2” in size.
  3. Place the treats on a parchment-lined baking sheet and roast them in the oven at 350°F for 30 minutes.
  4. After roasting the treats for 30 minutes, it’s time to dehydrate the treats. If you have a countertop dehydrator, that’s a great option. Additionally, some ovens even have an option to dehydrate. If not, lower the temperature on your stove as low as possible and prop open the door a few inches.
  5. Dehydrate the treats for about 3-5 hours. While dehydrating, the treats will become hard and appear almost black. It’s important to ensure there is no remaining moisture in the treats to prevent them from growing mold.
  6. Once fully dehydrated, store them in an airtight container in the fridge.

3. Chicken Liver Meatballs

  4. Combine the chicken livers with the spinach, parsley, egg, yeast, and olive oil in a food processor and pulse the mixture until smooth.
  5. Transfer the treat mixture to a large bowl. Add the flour and stir until fully incorporated with the rest of the mixture.
  6. Once fully combined, roll the dough into balls an appropriate treat size for your specific dog(s). Place the meatballs onto a lined baking sheet.
  7. Bake the meatballs at 350°F until golden brown – approximately 20 minutes.
  8. Once the meatballs are golden brown, remove them from the oven and allow them to cool completely before serving.
