With St Patrick’s Day around the corner, a few Irish-themed serves have landed on this month’s list

With spring in session, March featured a few Spritz recipes to toast to the return of nice weather (for those in the Northern Hemisphere). As St Patrick’s Day is also this month (17 March), we had to include a few recipes dedicated to that occasion too, lest we be pinched by a leprechaun…

The Highclere Shamrock

Highclere may be an English gin, but that won’t stop the brand from raising a few sláintes on St Patrick’s Day with this Irish-themed serve.

Ingredients:

  • 45ml Highclere Castle Gin
  • 15ml Lillet Blanc
  • 8ml Herbal liqueur
  • 15ml Simple syrup
  • 15ml Lemon juice

Method: Pour gin in a shaker and add mint leaves. Muddle gently. Add other ingredients and shake with ice. Double strain into a cocktail glass with a few ice cubes.

Kadoo Pineapple Sling

This serve is escapism by the glass, with its lineup of tropical ingredients. Perfect for pretending you’re by the beach.

Ingredients:

  • 50ml Kadoo Carnival Pineapple Rum
  • 15ml Campari
  • 15ml Freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 50ml Pineapple juice

Method: Build all ingredients over cubed ice. Garnish with edible flowers.

Garden Spritz

Level up your picnics and garden parties once the weather turns with this citrusy Spritz from Tatratea.

Ingredients:

  • 40ml Tatratea 32% Citrus
  • 20ml Elderflower syrup
  • 15ml Lime juice
  • 100ml Lemongrass soda
  • 100ml Prosecco
  • Ice

Method: Fill the shaker with ice, and add Tatratea 32% Citrus, elderflower syrup, and lime juice. Mix everything well and strain into a coupette glass. Top up with Prosecco and lemongrass soda in a 1:1 ratio. Garnish with a slice of dried lime.

Raspberri Cosmopolitan

The raspberries in this Cosmo riff add tartness to balance the cocktail’s typically sweeter flavours.

Ingredients:

  • 40ml Absolut Raspberri
  • 20ml Triple sec
  • 20ml Lime juice
  • 20ml Cranberry juice
  • 3 Raspberries shaken in the drink
  • 3 Raspberries to garnish

Method: Chill a Martini glass. Fill your shaker with ice and add all the ingredients – including three raspberries. Shake and double-strain into the chilled Martini glass. Garnish with three raspberries.

Kirker Shamrock John Collins

John takes over from his brother Tom in this twist on a Collins that uses Kirker Shamrock Irish Whiskey instead of gin. Another recipe to toast the St Patrick’s Day shenanigans with.

Ingredients:

  • 50ml Kirker Shamrock Irish Whiskey
  • 25ml Fresh lemon juice
  • 15ml Sugar syrup
  • Soda water
  • Garnish: Mint sprig and lemon wedge

Method: Add Kirker Shamrock Irish Whiskey, lemon juice, and sugar syrup to a cocktail shaker with ice and shake until chilled. Strain into an ice-filled Collins glass. Top with soda water. Garnish with a mint sprig and a lemon wedge.

Fig Leaf Americano

Three Cents’ Fig Leaf Soda brings a touch of Greek summer to the Americano cocktail.

Ingredients:

  • 30ml Italian bitter
  • 30ml Rosso vermouth
  • 120ml Three Cents Fig Leaf Soda

Method: In a chilled tall glass add the Italian bitter and rosso vermouth over cubed ice. Top up with the Fig Leaf Soda. Garnish with a small fig leaf.

No 1 Martini

All out of gin and vodka? Don’t fear, Tequila can be subbed in for that Martini addiction, with Lost Explorer bringing mineral and herbal notes to the cocktail.

Ingredients:

  • 45ml The Lost Explorer Tequila
  • 15ml Dry vermouth
  • 5ml Maraschino liqueur
  • 2 dashes of Orange bitters
  • Juniper mist (optional)

Method: Stir all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice and then pour into a chilled Martini glass. Garnish with a lime peel. Spray juniper mist.

Pineapple Picante

This twist on a Picante combines tropical sweetness with fiery spice. What Soho House can do, you can do better.

Ingredients:

  • 50ml Espolón Blanco
  • 25ml Ancho Reyes Verde
  • 25ml Lime juice
  • 15ml Pineapple juice
  • 10ml Agave syrup

Method: Combine ingredients in an ice-filled shaker, shake hard, and strain into a salt-rimmed rocks glass filled with ice. Garnish with a pineapple wedge and leaf.

Luck be a Clover

Keeper’s Heart Whiskey has given the Clover Club an Irish makeover for St Patrick’s Day, dressing the cocktail in its finest emerald green courtesy of Midori.

Ingredients:

  • 45ml Keeper’s Heart Irish and American Whiskey
  • 35ml Midori
  • 20ml Lemon juice
  • 1 Egg white (optional)
  • Garnish: Gold powder

Method: Shake ingredients, strain into coup, garnish with gold powder.

Breadfruit Turmeric Spritz

Take your brunch cocktail-making game to new heights with this bubbly and aromatic Spritz, made with the ‘world’s first’ breadfruit vodka.

Ingredients:

  • 45ml Roots-infused Mutiny Island Vodka
  • 15ml Lemon juice
  • 15ml Pineapple syrup
  • 15ml Lychee syrup
  • 60-90ml Sparkling rosé
  • 2 dashes Peychaud’s Bitters
  • Garnish: pineapple leaf and lemon peel

Method: Combine ingredients directly into a chilled large wine glass with ice and stir until well mixed. Add garnishes.
