Though it may seem like there's a new trendy recipe emerging from TikTok each and every day, there's no doubt that some of these viral creations are more delicious (and often as a result, more popular) than others. With an array of beloved TikTok dishes to choose from, the folks at Nutrimuscle went ahead and ranked the most popular TikTok recipes of 2022 thus far. In this case, popularity is defined by the number of views a certain recipe has received on the video-sharing platform.

Not surprisingly, hits like overnight oats, avocado toast, and pasta chips all made the cut, and the latter has garnered more than 1.1 billion views. As the Nutrimuscle team noted, many of the recipes that landed in the top 10 are also relatively healthy. "The rise of food trends on social media such as 'FoodTok' has encouraged younger generations to get in the kitchen and learn to cook meals from scratch, which is vastly healthier than relying on ready meals and fast food," Alex Parren, certified nutritionist, explained. "It's an easy and convenient way to find new recipes, and for a lot of young people, the visual aid of seeing how a dish is made and how it should look increases their chance of long-term success."

As Parren pointed out, the most popular TikTok recipes are easy for people to recreate at home, and are often made with inexpensive, common ingredients that consumers might already own. "The most viral food trends are also ones which use simple, accessible ingredients, which can be vital in the cost-of-living crisis we're currently experiencing," he added.

Baked Feta Pasta peaked on TikTok in 2021, but according to the data, it was one of the most popular recipes of 2022 as well, garnering an estimated 1.1 billion views. Given that all you need to make this viral recipe is tomatoes, feta cheese, pasta, and standard seasonings like olive oil, garlic, and basil, it's no surprise that it remains popular to this day. With the possible exception of feta cheese, many home cooks have the rest of the ingredients on-hand at any given time, and the dish is hearty, yet inexpensive to make.

In a tie for first place, these trendy chips also netted approximately 1.1 billion views on TikTok. Like Baked Feta Pasta, this recipe is also quite simple to throw together. In this case, all you need to do is toss some cooked pasta in the air fryer with some olive oil, Parmesan cheese, and spices to get the job done. Serve it with a dipping sauce, like a homemade pesto or marinara, to add even more flavor.

Coming in third place, with an estimated 839 million views on TikTok, is avocado toast. While the easy-to-make dish has been a brunch favorite for years, TikTokers have demonstrated a series of popular avocado toast ideas and upgrades that have given the dish new life. Some of these ideas include adding a grated egg to the mix, or topping the avo toast with a drizzle of hot honey. Given the virtually limitless varieties of avocado toast, it's safe to say that it won't be falling out of favor any time soon.

Is there anything more satisfying than a cake you can make in a mug? Not really, which is probably why TikToks showcasing this easy dessert that can satisfy any sweet tooth netted nearly 711 million views on the social platform. Pro tip: If you're feeding a bigger crowd, you can also make a cake in your slow cooker!

This easy, viral breakfast recipe managed to rack up nearly 706 million views on TikTok so far this year. Like avocado toast, this dish is simple to make (you really only need two ingredients!) and has hundreds of delicious variations. As with several other viral recipes on this list, overnight oats are also very healthy. Use this overnight oats recipe as a base, and bump up the nutrient content by adding in fresh fruit, fiber-packed nuts and seeds, good-for-you spices, and more.

Americans love their eggs, so when this recipe came along, it's no surprise that it was an instant hit. To that end, pesto eggs videos have garnered more than 265 million views on TikTok. To make this viral breakfast, all you need to do is cook your eggs (pretty much any soft-cooked style works) in pesto instead of using butter or cooking oil. The oil from the pesto is enough to lubricate the pan, and the flavors from the earthy green sauce pair perfectly with the eggs.

If you're one of the more than 184 million people who watched a salmon bowl video on TikTok, you likely have influencer Emily Mariko to thank. The California-based TikTok user shared her viral Salmon Bowl recipe in September 2021 using a leftover piece of salmon she shredded with a fork, leftover white rice, a drizzle of soy sauce, sriracha, and Kewpie mayonnaise, avocado slices, seaweed pieces, and a small plate of kimchi on the side. Since then, dozens of different variations on that recipe have made their way to the TikTok universe. If you're craving salmon, give this Noodles With Flaked Salmon recipe a whirl. It's not as easy to make as a Salmon Bowl, but it's definitely delicious!

While this viral recipe might not sound very appetizing, it's captured the attention of more than 129 million TikTok viewers so far this year, in part because it's very easy to make. Simply put, an Egg Boil involves hard-boiling eggs in a spicy broth-like sauce of your choosing. The sauce typically contains plenty of butter and an array of spices, but many users simply raided their spice cabinets instead of going on a grocery run. To kick this recipe up a notch, some TikTokers added noodles, potatoes, and/or meat to the mix.

Though not as popular as avocado toast, Pizza Toast has netted more than 125 million views on TikTok so far in 2022 after it went viral thanks to one of model Hailey Bieber's videos. As you may have guessed, this easy recipe involves topping a piece of bread with tomato slices, tomato sauce, cheese, and other delicious pizza toppings and then popping the whole thing in the air fryer or oven. What emerges is a simple yet scrumptious take on homemade pizza that's ready in minutes.

Ramen can often be a laborious dish to make, but the TikTok crowd managed to simplify this classic Japanese dish using packaged ramen noodles and bathing them in ingredients such as soy sauce, gochujang, and ginger. From there, you can add an egg, vegetables, or whatever else you have on hand. As many TikTokers now know, cheesy ramen is also a delight. Given ramen's rise in popularity, it's no surprise that #TikTokRamen has more than 91 million views this year alone. If you've got a ramen craving, learn how to make the popular noodle dish at home.
