It is the most wonderful time of the year for foodies everywhere. Here are a few recipes to try this Christmas that are certain to be holiday household classics:

Reese’s Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies

Cookies that will have Santa returning for another visit, these soft and gooey wonders will prove that all chocolatey desserts could use a Reese’s stuffed inside.

Preparation

Step 1

Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the butter turns brown in color and the foam dissipates, then remove from the heat while continuing to stir. Let it sit for around five minutes to cool.

Step 2

Pour butter into an electric or hand mixer. While still hot, add granulated and brown sugar and mix on low until combined. Once combined, sit to cool for a few minutes.

Step 3

Mix in eggs and vanilla, then mix in the baking soda and salt. Slowly mix in flour until combined and start adding the chocolate chips.

Step 4

Scoop two tablespoon balls of cookie dough onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Wrap a peanut butter cup in each until fully concealed.

Step 5

Cover the cookie sheet with plastic wrap and chill for at least four hours. Chilling overnight is preferred.

Step 6

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Bake cookies for 12 to 15 minutes until they turn brown or are no longer glossy on top. Cool for five minutes before removing.

Bacon-Wrapped Turkey

Everything is better with bacon. Dripping in smokey, porky goodness, this recipe instantly transforms an ordinary turkey into something extraordinary.

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 325 degrees. Arrange eight strips of bacon lengthwise on a piece of parchment paper, side-by-side with no space in between.

Step 2

Fold every other strip back halfway. Lay one strip across the unfolded strips perpendicularly. Then unfold bacon strips so they lay over the perpendicular one. Fold back the strips that haven’t been folded and add another perpendicular piece. Next, unfold the strips over it.

Step 3

Repeat the folding and unfolding process until there is a lattice of eight bacon strips by six strips. Place bacon lattice in the freezer for 15 minutes.

Step 4

Place turkey breast-side up on a rack in a roasting pan and tuck back wing tips. Mix the butter and garlic together in a bowl and brush over the turkey.

Step 5

Starting at the cavity end of the turkey, lay the bacon lattice over the turkey, covering the breast as much as possible. Next, drape the lattice lengthwise over the breast and legs while pressing the bacon into the butter. Tie both legs together with kitchen twine.

Step 6

Pour three cups of water into the bottom of the roasting pan and loosely tent turkey breast with foil. Roast, basting occasionally, for three hours until a thermometer inserted into the thigh reads 160 degrees, and remove the foil.

Step 7

Increase oven temperature to 450 degrees. Roast another 10 to 15 minutes until the bacon is crisp and a thermometer registers 165 degrees.

Step 8

Let the turkey rest for at least 30 minutes before carving.

Sausage Stuffing

This savory twist on a holiday staple is guaranteed to become the main attraction at the dinner table.

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 300 degrees and cut all the bread into ¾ inch cubes.

Step 2

Divide bread between two baking sheets and toast in the oven for 35 to 40 minutes. Allow bread to cool completely. Place bread cubes into a large bowl and increase oven temperature to 375 degrees.

Step 3

Cook sausage in a large skillet over medium heat until brown and crumbly. Place sausage in the same bowl with the bread cubes. Do not wipe out the skillet.

Step 4

Melt butter in the same skillet over medium heat until foaming. Add onion, celery, garlic, salt and pepper and cook until translucent. Then add in the wine until it is reduced by half. Next, add the broth, parsley, sage and thyme and stir.

Step 5

Slowly ladle the broth mixture onto the bread cubes, and toss frequently for even coverage.

Step 6

Spray a large casserole pan with cooking spray and proceed to spoon dressing into the pan. Bake for 20 to 30 minutes until golden and crisp on top.
