This is one rich dessert, and with this tea infused wine, the brownies are a flavor explosion on the palate. The white chocolate works perfectly with this wine but a medium dark or milk chocolate will work just as well!
This recipe appears in Un-Wine’d, which airs Saturdays at 1:00 p.m. on VPM PBS. Watch past seasons and current episodes on the PBS app or PBS website. Check the broadcast schedule for local listings. Discover more recipes here.
What You’ll Need:
- 12 ounces white chocolate chips or shredded white chocolate, divided
- 1 c. butter
- 1 ½ c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 t. vanilla extract
- 2 ¼ c. flour
- ½ t. Salt
- ¼ t. Cinnamon
Directions:
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350 and grease a 9” square pan with butter or non-stick spray.
Step 2: Place ½ lb. of the chocolate and the cup of butter in a double boiler and melt over medium heat. (Note this can also be done in a microwave.) Place the mixture in a mixing bowl and stir in the sugar until completely incorporated then beat in the eggs until a golden yellow mixture forms. Add the vanilla. Mix together the flour, salt, and cinnamon then incorporate slowly until all the dry ingredients are mixed in well.
Step 3: Place in the oven and bake for 40 minutes. Remove and top with remaining chocolate. Return to the oven for 3-5 minutes or until the chocolate is melted. Remove from the oven and spread the chocolate evenly with a spatula.
Step 4: Cool for 30 minutes then cut into bars.
